I had the most incredible experience while having cataract surgery. I have been going to St. Paul Eye Clinic for a number of years just going to whatever Doctor was available. Two years ago, I had the good fortune of drawing Dr. Scott Uttley from the pool. I like his "chair side manner" and felt a connection. Last fall I made a specific appointment with Dr. Uttley because I knew I was going to need some help. Vision in my right eye had diminished and I needed cataract surgery. The surgery was scheduled at Midwest Surgery Center and the experience was incredible. From the moment I walked into the clinic it was warm, welcoming and felt like everyone really cared. The prep nurse, the anesthesiologist, her nurse and the surgical nurses were all fantastic as they teamed with Dr. Utterly to repair my vision! Thank you all for the wonderful experience.

My first appointment with Doc Uttley. A evaluation for Cataract surgery. Professional, polite, listened to my concerns, and addressed them all. Discussed risk of surgery. I was interested in a multi focal lens, but I had l a large correction Lasik surgery 20 years ago. So for best results, mono focal lens is the best choice. Will need glasses or contacts for reading. All staff members I interacted with were also professional & polite.

Dr. Uttley is an excellent eye surgeon and a caring doctor who always makes certain that you know what is happening and gives clear instruction on what to do and what options you have. I can not ask for more. The people who do the preliminary examination are thorough and supportive. One example occurred previously when I was going through the " Which is better: 1 or 2" routine. I was becoming anxious and was told "We won't let you make a mistake." I relaxed and the rest of the process went smoothly The office staff efficiently and politely helps you check and provide the necessarily documentation. At the end of the visit they have the necessary following appointments scheduled and give you the paperwork reporting the results of the appointmen.

I would not even consider going any other office for eye care. The staff sets the stage for the visit. they are friendly, personable and competent. then in comes the star of the show. I have been a patient at the Saint Paul Eye Clinic for many years - going there for my annual eye exams. I had the fortunate luck several years ago to be scheduled with Dr. Uttley regarding an eye issue I was having at the time - a receptionist at the office recommended him. After seeing several other doctors prior (not at this Woodbury clinic) with no luck, he was able to pinpoint the condition immediately and treat the symptoms; while it will be a lifelong issue, the treatment prescribed by Doctor Uttley is working very well. I’m greatly relieved. I see him now annually for my eye exam and I thoroughly trust him as my care provider. I went to Dr. Utley with a vision disturbance I was having. After conducting tests, examine my eyes, and listening to my description of the disturbance, Dr. Utley had my wife take me to the emergency room. He called ahead to the emergency room to advise them of my impending arrival. An MRI was conducted and it was determined I had had a stroke. Through his thoroughness, listening, and caring Dr Uttley preserved my health because I am now being attended to by appropriate specialists.

Dr. Scott Uttley has been my ophthalmologist for over 15 years and has earned my high regard. Today he met the gold standard with his handling of an emergent medical diagnosis. I went into see Dr. Uttley for an eye exam. I have had no issues with my eyes, but as I get older wanted to stay on top of it. Dr Uttley said I had 20/20 vision and everything looked very good and I should use my liquid tears up to 4 times daily and my glaucoma was 8 and 9 which is very good and my watering eyes was due to dry eyes and keep on using liquid tears. Dr. Uttley removed cataracts from my right eye on 6/30/2021. Everything about the procedure was streamlined. My care at MW Surgical Center was excellent. I was kept very comfortable throughout & as Dr. U. worked, it was clear to me he was a highly skilled eye surgeon. Immediately after surgery my vision was already improved! I experienced minimal discomfort for just 4 - 6 hours...easily handled w/Ibuprofen. Today, I have NO discomfort! In 2 weeks he will repeat the procedure on my left eye. I have high standards for my healthcare professionals & I highly recommend Dr. Uttley, St. Paul Eye Clinic & MW Surgical Center for cataract removal/lens replacement. I couldn't be more pleased!!
